Franklin X-40 Outdoor Ball
I like playing with the Frankline x-40 Outdoor balls. It is faster and bouncier than the two other ones that I was playing with. However, the downside, as other people mentioned, is that the balls crack easily. After just 4 days of play, one ball cracked already.
As usual, I received the box of 100 Franklin X-40 balls in a timely manner. Thanks again!
Great outdoor ball. Unlike the Durafast 40, colour does no fade which is excellent for evening play. Durable.
The Prince George Tennis and Pickleball Club primarily use the Franklin X-40 Pickleball. Although not as durable as the new Core ball, our intermediate players (the largest contingent of players in our Club) seem to prefer the apparent weight, colour, softness and flight of the ball. Having said that, note that this assessment is based on anecdotal information. Don’t know what the results would be if we used, say, a “blind” test with 2 or 3 different balls. As an aside, our advanced players do not like the new Core ball. They say it’s too light. Funny, because a group of advanced players in Vernon seem to love the Core ball. (See Graham Baker - Vernon Club).
We started using these balls in San Carlos Mexico a few years ago and they are great to play with.
